New IT Skills (ICDL) Course Starts!

Yesterday was the first day of our new IT Skills course. This session is the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) course. It’s at SCQF level 5 and is accreddited through the British Computer Society (BCS).

Some of the participants enrolled on this course started with us in our SCQF level 3 IT Skills course in October 2022 and completed our SCQF level 4 IT Skills course at the beginning of 2023. Completing these courses not only gives participants useful qualifications they can use to find better working opportunities, it also improves their day to day lives. Participants become better equipped to help their children with computer-based schoolwork, but they also experience more digital inclusion and independence. Many Refugees and Asylum Seekers spend time and money getting help with online applications and providing evidence to enable them to access benefits and other support.

This course is possible because of the generous support of The National Lottery Community Fund and the Scottish Refugee Council.
