We have a full classroom today for the start of our third IT Skills course. Like our previous two IT Skills courses, this one is run in partnership with Glasgow Clyde College. Our courses are primarily for Refugees and Asylum Seekers, but we have all sorts of people register. The first two sessions were the introductory Click2Connect course, for those with no prior computer experience, and those who completed it received a qualification at SCQF level 3. The current session is the next level of Click2Connect, for those with some prior computer experience, or who have successfully completed the level 3 course. We are very happy to report that 70% of participants in the current session previously completed the level 3 course. As with our previous sessions of IT Skills, this course will last 8 weeks. All participants who successfully complete the course will receive a qualification at SCQF level 4.
Completing these courses helps participants acquire valuable skills that can help in their everyday lives, whether it is helping their children with schoolwork, improving their English skills, bringing the world wide web to their fingertips, or helping them keep in touch with friends and family members who may be far away. Participants also benefit from long-term positive impact through building computer skills that can help them pursue higher waged jobs or apply to college or university.
The next IT Skills class will begin on 21 March 2023 and will be for those with no prior computer experience (SCQF level 3). If you are interested in registering you can contact our Project Coordinator at: email@example.com.
