The first class day of Session 6 of our IT Skills course began on August 30th 2023, which runs for 8 consecutive weeks every Wednesday. This session offers participants the opportunity to gain a qualification at SCQF level 3 from Glasgow Clyde College.
Most of the participants in this session are new to the Inclusive Homework Club, and the majority of them have never used a computer before. This course therefore aims to offer all the necessary tools to help participants create and expand their knowledge of computers, teaching them to navigate today’s increasingly digitalised world and building their self-confidence.
Our IT Skills S6 course focuses on email writing, the use of Microsoft Office, browsing the Internet, as well as learning the foundations of online safety. This aligns with participants’ interests, whose primary reasons to enrol in the course are helping their kids complete their homework, applying for governmental assistance, applying for college, as well as keeping in touch with friends and family.
Our course helps participants achieve their objectives by teaching incredibly valuable digital skills, which in turn can improve the quality of life of the participants in various aspects. In fact, our IT Skills course provides an environment for participants to socialise, improve their English skills and get support to pursue new educational opportunities.
